What stays in your browser

All calculator math runs on your device. If you choose “Save scenario,” the site stores the saved calculator URL and date in your browser’s local storage under the key fbh-scenarios. Saved scenarios can be removed by clearing this site’s local storage in your browser settings. They are not sent to us.

A shared link places calculator inputs in the URL query string so the same setup can reopen. Anyone who receives that link can read the values it contains. Avoid putting private information in a link; the tools are designed for ordinary calculator inputs only.

Cookies and analytics

The current site does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not load an analytics beacon. Your hosting provider may process ordinary server logs such as IP address, requested path, timestamp, and browser information to deliver and secure the website. The hosting provider’s own policies govern those logs.

Links to other websites

Field guides may link to official public resources and product or retailer websites. When you follow a link, the destination site operates under its own privacy policy and technology. Check that policy before sharing information there.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for adults planning or caring for a family. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes and contact

We may update this page when the site’s features or data handling changes. The “last updated” date above will change with it. For privacy questions, contact the site operator using the contact details published with the domain’s hosting or registration information.
